poof it stops running while driving

mysterious things happening? i would check the "brain" in the distr. cap. check the ignition wire on the cap. from the distr. up by the radiator. i worked on my motor once, and that wire fell off and it would not run, but everything else was there.

when i got home this morning , i sat in the truck pushed the clutch in and went to start her and nothing at all(no turning over,no starting) but i did have light! I tired it twice!!
Damn!! so i thought hmmmm. i wounder how dirty my filter was so i unlatched my cover and checks both filters on my 87 B2200. and they were clean. ok kool i thought! Well lets try this again. Sat in the truck and damn it started right back up! I was like what!!!

Loose wires

Spark plugs
Starter

imma say its your ignition run a wire from your + batt teminal to the + post on the coil i bet it will fire right up if that works just run a toggle switch on it

yea, you know, bermuda triangle. Its on the drivers side in the engine bay. Little black rectangular box by the brake booster. Check and see if its there or if the wires to it are corroded. Sometimes people think it serves no purpose...

Other then that, the other thing you should see is if the key in your igntion has any slop when in the RUN position. If so, the ignition switch contacts are worn down and it will cause the circuit to open hence why it will run sometimes and not another time. Even when your on the road...

pour some gas in the carb and see if it starts if so its a fuel deliver problem...

i started with the Distributer. i removed the cap and took off the rotor. The tip of the rotor was scuffed up and there was carbon dust on the inside of the cap. And 2 out of the 4 nips in the cap where scuffed and had little burn marks. will be replacing these things.

Hey man, I was just yankin' your chain about the whole bermuda triangle box... It does'nt exist, haha.

But the latter, the ignition switch, I was serious about.

Damn HeX0rz i was out there for like 2 hours looking for this box on my driver side. And it was a joke,geeez. that was a waste of time for me!!
Ignition switch is on my list!!
