If you can machine the end of the FE3 crank to fit the 2600i input shaft then yes it will fit. You can really MAKE anything you want to fit.

I don't know whether you were lied to or if you were misled. I read that post that you are refering to. I wouldn't go by much of what anyone says unless they have first hand experience ( and that is not to say that I have much). All I know is that SINCE the b2200 trany is a direct bolt on to the FE3 block and the B2600 isn't, a simple bellhousing swap is not going to cut it, as it is not only the bellhousing that gets in the way but also the diameter and lenght of the imput shaft. If you want to get it done you WILL have to do more modification than you want to do.

Remember that this FE3 upgrade is supposed to be made as simple as posible. If you're going to spend the time and money to modify all these, parts than you might as well get something totally different and get more HP while you're at it.

From what I hear, Fredio's engine has above 300HP and a lot more torque than stock, why don't you ask him what kind of tranny he is running. Remember that our tranny's are not meant for draggin or HUGE amounts of HP and Torque which is what actually matters when it comes to tearing up a transmission. But the b2200 should handle the FE3 upgrade even with turbo.

A. how easy will it be to find a Bongo Bellhousing, how much money, and what happens after all the searching and money, that it doesn't fit....(I don't know weather it does or not)

B. The Miata or RX-7 (which Both have decent horsepower), their trannys can be modified to fit and are readily available in the states.

My point exactly. Not to say that what I have is the best or what you're looking for, but I'm very happy with my Miata transmission and I think it would be the best swap. That or an RX7 tranny. and if you feel brave. Then get the miata tranny with a 84 NA RX7 tranny 5th gear for an even more superb ratio on the Hwy.

I do apologize for any misleading info, I read a post here a few months back where somebody said the bongo bell housing mates an F block (2000/2200/FE3) to the type 3 transmission (2600). I was planning on trying this myself but I guess I need to do more reading.

i know that the bongo bell housing mates the f block to the type 3 rx7 box. im not shure if the b2600 has the same box or not. also i think i remember fred having to grind down the end of the input shaft a little bit with the rx7 box.

also i thought i would post the link to fred's fe3 index

I checked that link out, there is a mention of a bell housing from certain model bongos that will mate the F to a type 3 from an rx7 or 2600. There's proabably some grinding involved but I'm going to do more research. I'd love an FE3 4x4.
