you have a blow through carb?

I have a 38, it runs really good now, after adjusting the air fuel mixture and had to advance the time cause my intake is too small. Right now all I have for mods is the header and electric fan. Once I get the other motor finished with a bigger cam and port and polished the timing should be able to go back to normal, oh I also had to use some hot ngk plugs. I probably didn't need that big of carb but bigger will be better later.

I was always under the impression that a carb wouldn't function properly if under pressure

Only problem I have with mine is fuel is pushed back to the tank. I need to put the other fuel pump on.

I think you need a raising rate fuel pressure regulator

the 34/34 is a fine carburator , it is a Solex.
Solex is just as good as weber in my opinion.
I work at a shop where we sell parts and restore classic Ferrari's and Alfa Romeo's.
Alot of Ferrari's in the 50s-70s used 6 Solex's and they works phenomenal. Expecially in multiple carb setups
