or not! here's the deal i was riding my b home from work yesterday when i go to stop at a red light it dies. Now every time you go from higher rpms to lower rpms it dies, and sometimes when the choke kicks off it wont idle period! i checkd all the vacuum lines the all seem to be in place, i even sprayd carb cleaner on the side of the carb to see if the rpms raised n e one i got it half way idleing and notta. i took the carb off and cleand it nothing,... but i messd with the idle adj on the carb and now its running so rich it burns my eyes after a couple mins. when your in gear the truck runs awesome but as soon as you go to stop and hit the clutch if you dont keep some foot on the pedal she dies. any ideas/incite or whatever you have to say is more than welcome so i can get it running again!

Thanks

Patrick

try replacing your condenser.. cheap to replace. just an ideea might not be the problem but i had a problem similar to this and it was my condenser.

How does it run at high rpm, like you stick your foot in it and it boggs out on you? Maybe change fuel pump. Mine had that prob bad when I changed carbs. Checked everything, then took to a shop and had them check the fuel pressure, I think its suppose to be 3 or 4 lbs pressure, I was getiing one lbs. So you might check that out besides fuel pumps for these, if not fi, are cheap. good luck

nah fuel pump is pumpn more than enough fuel the bowl in the carb is stayin full complely, and no its not bogging at all if your foots on the gas its running awesome! so idk thats my reason for leak but hell what do i know lol

there is an idle adjust screw on the passenger side rear of the factory carb.it is gold colored hex head, very obvious.righty =richer, lefty=leaner.I suspect when u were fiddling with the carb u knocked the idle off.turn it in about a quarter turn and see if it doesnt idle better.bj

bump.sorry didnt read ur first post correctly.if it is too rich, turn the idle adjust screw in until it is snug and then back it out one and a quarter turns. That approximates the factory setting.see what happens then.bj

i tired adjusting the carb at first but still didnt fix my other prob but that will get it running leaner again, but i still dont know what causing it to run weird again

can some one give me some symptoms of a stuck float?? im kindly thinkin that could be it? idk tho

but i sprayd down the carb with carb cleaner while running the engine and it did not pick up idle so it may not be a leak there but another question...that box on the fire wall that the vaccum lines plug in on, is that a vacuum pump? and all those little soleniods with the vaccum lines in em should that adjust something? i turned the dials over and over and over and it never does any thing!
