So here in the last week or so my truck has started dying on me a lot. As long as i'm pushing the gas its fine, but as soon as i let off of the gas it starts idling really bad and then dies. Any ideas?

do you have a weber? if so check to make sure that your idle air mixture screw hasn't backed out, it has happened to me several times, you also may want to change your fuel filter. make sure there are no kinks in any fuel lines and your vacuum lines are good.

oh, and if that is all good, check to make sure that your plugs aren't fouled out

i have a stock carb. and i just replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs.

Does your carb have a little pot on the front with an adjustment nut and spring loaded white plastic bit inside?
My truck kept stalling when I got it and it was that little part not being adjusted properly, I think it's there so when you let off the gas too quickly it works as a buffer and slows it down so it doesn't stall.
Also how's your idle? not too low maybe?

i have a friend coming to look at the carb and timing sometime this week. i'm hoping he will be able to figure it out

Hopefully it's something easy like a blockage in a jet, an adjustment needed or a air leak somewhere, can't be ultra serious though otherwise it would happen on acceration too I'd say.

Did it get fixed? Having the same problem.

its not fixed yet. i'm going over to a family friends house for him to look at it when i get off work saturday. He's an ASE certified mechanic, so i'm hoping he'll be able to figure it out.
