Need Help! Its my Daily driver

Went out to start it and turn it around, ticking pretty bad, pulled valve cover, everything is nice and tight. looks ok, The one I'm pointing at is not riding the cam and has a little play, I didn't turn the cam, but shouldn't it always be riding the cam? Thats why the springs are there right? To keep it flush and rolling on the cam smoothly right? Anyways, I just want to throw that out there real quick. Sounds like I need to go back to Timing issue? Right??

All timing marks check out good, dead on actually!! Back to Carb! Any other idea's would be appreciated,, When I was checking the timing on the dist,, I noticed when I took the cap off a little bit of oil at the bottom of it. Is that ok? I would imagine it has oil or grease to lube the internals, but enough that its leaking out the bottom? IDK

It has all new plugs, plug wires, dist cap, rotor, coil, and battery!

What's the proper name for the little black box on top of the distributer? I noticed its hanging on by a thread! literally!

Well... Guess what! It was the carb! I didn't even clean it! I took my air hose with about 120psi, and unscrewed one at a time (everything that was a jet), and just blew them out. Whatever was in there ended up on my forehead! LOL! Yes indeed, like a dumbass I had my head over the carb,, oh well. It started right up and idling steady at 800rpm. Thanks everyone!

That's a condenser/capacitor. I was able to dig out some plastic and solder on a new wire. I have since replaced it, some have used ECH RC111 or fa83 or p13045 from NAPA. Search those terms on Google.

Spray around the base of the carb. this gasket gets tired over time of heating/cooling, and Deteriorates, may just need tightening/replacing.
It sounds more like trash in the carb.
