I will try to get a couple pics up for you when I get home from work this evening....

And no I did not have to notch anything. For me the worst part was getting the tabs notched right to be a good fit on the frame, with the odd angles... I finally figured out a good method to figure that out..haha...I felt dumb sitting in the floor with cut up cardboard all around me for a couple hrs. with nothing to show for it...So I walked away that night... The next night it hit me and i had it done in no time.

It could definately be a more refined piece...But it did what i needed with what I had laying around on a Saturday when everything was closed..

Basically You just need something to go straight through the control arm and through the bushing...The issue is that your control arm bolt is much bigger then your bushing hole... So you have to adapt from the larger bolt to the smaller bolt while keeping everything lined up.

The Bolt just happened to fit through the bushing perfectly..I had it and the nut left over.. I then tapped the middle spacer so it could thread through it more... The other end is a nut from the factory control arm (i have multiple sets, so i was good to weld on it)...This just goes onto the bolt through the control arm... Lined everything up... Threw a bunch of thick washers on the long silver bolt..to space everything tightly in.... tacked it together... And there is my jig and the control arm ...

Prob. much easier/cleaner methods..>But again I used what I had.

Nice. Thanks for the pics. What size tires are you running in the front? I would like to lay out on 20s if possible. That's a lot of help.

So it has been quite some time since I have been on here or taken time to do updates....What have I learned since..... I AM HORRIBLE AT MAINTAINING A BUILD THREAD OF ANY SORT!!! I have loads of pictures...I just forget...So here are a few of late. Currently I am finishing up framing on the bed, gotta do some dent repair, etc. as well. Hopefully will finish up front fender wells in the next week or so....Remove the cab and such AGAIN...get my actual trans put in (700r4)...Get the driveshaft made...Throw everything back together for one last test fit....Then tear everything back apart for bodywork, smoothing, paint, sealing, etc. etc.

If only it were as easy as it was to sit and type this...wah wam.... Anyways since I have been away..I have

Finished welding up the cab from the bd finally
Changed the suicide doors back to regulars
Front Big brake conversion
Finished rear conversion
I really dont even remember what else since the last update.....Quite a bit, but still slower then I like..But it will get finished eventually. Here are a few pics at the current state.

Did you buy a front big brake kit or just piece something together with a 5 lug bolt pattern?

Thanks mymmeryloss!!

It is pieced together and then I had to make a bracket to bolt the caliper to the toyota spindle... I had talked to a guy on one of the toyota forums a couple of years ago about it, and it is the same set up he used for an upgrade...All pretty straight forward beyond making the bracket and getting the caliper set right..And the hub had to have a little machine work... I believe its going to work well...I guarantee ya first test will be somewhere nice and flat and open...ha.... But checking operation on a bench it seems like it will do the trick.
