"The Mudder Fugger" 87 B2600 project

all right now it just got even worse for the truck. i can get her to start as long as i keep the starter engaged. once i put the key to the on position everything shuts off. i have put in a new electrical side of ignition switch. but what im thinking is that its the ignition cylender thats not making the connection to the electrical side of the switch. i can go to a junk yard and get a new one for like 20 bucks. i have a new 80 amp main fuse in her as well, since i didnt trust my old one cuz it looked black and it looked like it let the smoke out. so i just replaced it. but it could also be a fusible link that goes to the ignition coil but i cant find it. ne one of u guys know where its at i know that its a black wire but i cant find it right now. and its makin me angry i wana get this truck rinnin again. i miss drivin it even though its up and down my road but all well lol. thanks for your help guys.

hey man keep up the work it will come together eventually. wiring in these i heard can get pretty bad. well anything really wiring sucks ass. i wont lie i love the standard cab and the decals on the sides. looks super 80s and badass. dont let them harass you about pics too much you put up pics of the truck and you are keping us updated but when you get to doing some real work you can do updated pics as well!

this is true. i just got to get her retimed and hopefully i can get her to the shop. but i do have a back bumper and a new pass side tail light cover from the jy for 50 bucks and the bumper is steel and all i gotta do i just heat it up and bend it back to straight and probably redo the bumper attachments lol. but there is pics lol just gotta find em lol i know they are in here. will update later when i get to workin on her.

all right, got some updates for the mudder fugger. she now starts and stays running but still have to leave the starter on in order for her to keep runnin. go to take the starter out today and one of the lil wings that the bolt screws into broke on me this morning so i got another one comin. hopefully this one will work a hell of a lot better. i go to get my bumber and my back light tomorow and hopefully its still there, well the bumper at least i really need that thing. will probably sand the bumper down and put some spray in bedliner stuff and not let her rust and to keep it tough lol. but waiting on parts for her and soon hopefully she will be runnin and i can start gettin her ready for the road again. miss drivin her. will update later with pics of the bumper before, after, and on the truck.

you have to keep your key in the start position to keep it running? need a new ignition switch like me if thats the case

yea probably but im just gunna see if it has somethin to do with the starter for shits and giggles lol. if not then i go get a new ignition switch lol.

well the start either works, works when it wants to, or doesnt work... but it's the ignition that tells the truck to stay in the run position.

do your dash lights go out after you start/crank the engine and then let the key back to the 'on' position? warning lights, like keep your ebrake on for instance. mine does this, and i now have another switch to install... if i do get it to stay running, it could shut off after hitting a simple bump in the road... bad electrical portion of the key ignition

yea they all go out. and they all went out on the stock switch. its just right after the nose cone broke on what i believe may have been another remaned starter, took that one out and put the new one in and ever since then been havin this problem. before it would start and stay runnin. but tomorow the new remaned starter i just got friday will go in. also hoping to install my tach as well. hope this all works out lol. will try to take pics if i get time.

THE MUDDER FUGGER STARTS AND RUNS NOW!!!! all it was was in the wiring harness it had a short to ground. my uncle just clipped it back in and it started and ran. it now runs under its own power and it idles under its own power. sorry i couldnt get any pics. was way to excited to have it start and run again.
