First test fit!!!! WOOOOO!

Looking underneath. The F150 oil pan is about 1.5" taller than the mustang pan. I am not comfortable with that ground clearance. If it was a static dropped truck, cool... but not for a truck that is going to be laying frame. So I need to swap the pan for a new mustang one.

The block hugger headers fit so good! I am really happy with that!

All and all, good day of progress. Disappointed that I couldn't install the engine today, but at least I know what needs to be done now. I need to relocate the parking brake cable on the firewall. There may be some minor massaging of the firewall when the tranny bellhousing is on, but we'll see when we try again in a couple weeks.
The motor mounts from the mustang fit perfect. Very pleased with that.
I had to cut out part of the core support, but I can always reweld it in later. No big deal. Made it a lot easier for fitting the engine in because the waterpump and pulleys stick out so far.
Going to be a lot of customizing to get the radiator installed on the front of the core support and slimline fans behind it. Tight squeeze for sure.

Oh, and last pic... my motivational wall in the garage, lol

what does your other half think about your other g.f.'s on the wall ? lol ! I 'm sure i'd get a raft of sh*t for it if i did ha..

got a update for the ragtop? if your totally not happy why not see if you can find a g6 glass sun roof to put in instead?

For your header panel (coresupport) why not make it removable in the area you cut ?

She's cool with it. She could probably look just like any of those girls in the magazine pages, but now that she is almost 27 and has a professional job, she doesn't want that kind of attention. The blue sash is from Carlisle 2011, when she won the beauty contest, lol.

I am happy with the ragtop now. I had to modify the latching assembly by drilling through it so the locking screws would hold tight. It works great now.

Making the core support piece bolt on (removable) is definitely a consideration. I'll decide what I want to do once I get to that stage. I just figured welding it back in and grinding it smooth would be the easiest solution but maybe I will come up with something that looks nicer and makes it easy to remove if I ever need to again.

Since this thread was brought up again, I will post a couple update pics.

I relocated the parking brake a little lower so the block wasn't touching it.

And I got a chrome mustang oil pan because the F150 pan had a 1.5" deep sump that hung down too low.

Not much of an update on the Mazda. Crappy weather and been busy getting ready for wedding stuff.

But I did buy a new truck last week. 2011 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab with 12,500 miles on it. I love this thing!
