DONT TEASE LIKE THAT!!!! WHOLE SIDE SHOT!!!!

lol

Would KMC do all 6 lug wheels with that offset and bore?

Haha. Hard to get a whole side shot in a single bay garage. Not to mention the truck is on jack stands now and the fuel system was removed so I can relocated the electric pump.

I had a really hard time finding wheels I liked that would fit. Seems like nobody makes high offset 6-bolt wheels anymore, especially in 18". KMC made two types but it sounded like they were going to be discontinued soon or already were and I got one of the last sets.

Hey man, I been trying to get mine running correctly. If I hold the choke closed (its manual) it will fire over, but it does backfire FLAMES out of the carb. I looked and found a diagram for the wiring order, and tried to redo my wires. According to the diagram, if you are standing in front of the truck, and looking down at the cap, the 12 oclock position, going clockwise, the order is 5, 1, 8, 7, 3, 6, 2, 4.

Now, with that being said, my order is the EXACT same...but its basically 180 degrees flipped. My order, starting at the same 12 oclock position is 3, 6, 2, 4, 5, 1, 8, 7. Its the same order, just starts in a difft area. The diagram I am going off of is below.

Just trying to get mine going, any help is appreciated!

Assuming your distributor is set right, try putting the #1 plug at the 12:00-1:00 position.
And you have the wrong firing order. Ford has two different firing orders for the 5.0. I think the one you found is for pre '84. Use this one instead: 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

Mine looks exactly like the picture below

Absolutely NUTS on how many difft orders there is. LMAO
Earlier my coil melted. Here's the issue, there's obviously a (+) and a (-) on the coil. I checked it out, there's a red wire that never shows its hot, was on the positive side, and a green on the negative side. Also on the positive side there's a larger black wire/white stripe. It DOES show its hot when ignition is on. So, I went buy an accel coil, hooked it all up....guess what? It was burning up as well. It did not smoke or melt or sizzle like the old one, but got pretty hot. I disconnected that green wire, and red wire. The negative side I ran an independent ground, so I left it connected. I did leave the switched positive wire, but I have not tried to see if its firing yet. Letting coil cool down.

Tomorrow I will try that diagram you posted, and see if she will fire over.

Thx for new diagram.

The negative comes from distributor. It should be positive on + side and pulse - side when disty turns. I'm not sure you have it that way, IM just going buy last post.

I have the polarity correct on the wires I know what they are, the 2 wires that have no polarity with the key being on are whats killing me. Like I mentioned, there's a green wire that was initially on the negative side, and a red wire on the positive side. These show no signs of voltage when the ignition is switched on. I checked the continuity between the green wire and my ground, and there's nothing there, so its not a ground source.

I'll play with it some more in a few hours...

Can't really help ya with the coil. I used an HEI distributor. It only required one 12V ignition source.

I mean no offense by this, but your question would probably get more attention in a new thread instead of my project thread, lol.

I'll research and see if I can use an hei, i've seen some in local parts stores, and asked those people, but they have no idea.
