Worked on the truck all day yesterday. Spent a few hours with the grinder cutting off all the old brackets and mounts on the frame and axle. Got the bottom of the notch plated and tacked in, axle back under it and started mocking up the upper bag mounts. Still need to cut off the upper link mount on the axle and redo it, but Im waiting on the tubing for the front crossmember.

You relocating the gas tank or leaving it in the stock location?
The nice thing about the short bed gas tanks is they fit nicely between the frame rails behind the axle.
They hangdown or stick up a tad much depending on how ya use the stock mounting flanges on the tank. I put mine closer to the top of the frame rail so it didnt hang down much.

Leaving in the stock location. The air tank and compressors are going behind the axle. Gonna move it up as much as I can without it hitting the bed.

Doesnt look like alot got done in the pics, but got the crossmember in and did alot of finish welding on various things. Fro is going to cut out the tabs for the upper link, gas tank mount and a few other random brackets and gussets this week. Trying to take it to a cruise night on the 18th, we'll see how that turns out. On with the pics:

Lookin good. Are you making a similar one for the rear tank mounts as well?

Still thinking about that part of it. Gotta see what there is room for once the upper link gets remounted.
