That should be a new topic or poll," who's wives or girlfriends either likes or will ride in their truck?" My wife hates mine and would rather walk then ride in it. Kids do not care for it either they say it's too bumpy and has too much bass.

My wife loves mine. My daughter didn't care till I took her to school in it and all the lil boys in her class talked about how cool it was in class all day. Now she likes it lol.

hah.. don't apologize.. I want to see too.. I wasnt driving that night.. so I don't remember much... I don't get in that shape anymore... but back then.. Fri night or Sat night.. someone else drove.. and one night was my night to party.. one night was my night to chaperone.. now it takes toooo long to recover... lol..

yeah not even trying with my wife until I get the interior back in it and get it quieted down... spent sunday night researching sound proofing.. didnt feel like doing much.. think I gave myself a mild concussion at work on Sat.. was sick with a headache etc... all day sunday.. Think I might try the low buck patch stuff from lowes... been reading about it on the rat rod sites... seems like it has gotten good reviews and is way cheaper than anything else... just need to weld up a few holes and its ready for sound proofing then some new carpet..

maybe then I will finally start trying to fix the destroyed bed... its intimidating me...

Oh yeah... I did finally install all the heater controls.. HUGE THANK YOU TO JROCK!! ... I drove the truck to work on Sat.. and it was great.. I could control the temps.. and control where the heat blew!.. its the little things! I hooked up my dome light Sat after work so I have heat and working dome light... the XB better watch out.. .if I can figure out a rear seat and seat belts... i will sell it.... lol..

I think you're on to something. My kids never cared about the vehicles until middle school when all their friends were telling them how cool their dad was to have nice rides, etc. I still love pulling up to drop them off with the subs pumpin, the teachers LOVE that! The wife really does dig the custom stuff but she can't understand "why" sometimes. I just tell her "because I can" or "just to be different". She loves driving the dually, but she couldn't park it in a field, lol. In her defense, it's huge... that's what she said! hahaha

Ok... work has slowed down a little and the family stuff too.. stopped by lowes on the way home tonight and picked up my rat rod sound insulation and gave it a try... While it is definitely NOT as good as dynamat.. not even close... it did make an improvement and I am hoping it can help with the temps more so.. I got the drivers side pretty much done with just a little more than a roll.. So for I am guessing about 20~25$ in materials... not a bad little investment.. oh and I can't forget my 2$ wallpaper roller to roll it on with.. lol.. I did have to drill and put a screw in it.. once I started using the heat gun the roller just popped right off the handle. here are a few pics..

Pass along the brand name, etc. for that stuff. I really need to deaden my back wall for cheap.

It's self adhesive valley tin.. from Lowe's.

I don't think one layer will do much plan on two. Or you may want to get the real stuff. I am on a budget, and more worried about thermal. I plan to put some other kind of insulation down too. Or possibly double layer this.
