Poor ole Dan has been traveling the country looking for a decent 68-69 Pontiac LeMans, and getting the run around from some weird owners.......looks like he is back home now and working on the cars he has already.
He'll find the perfect one soon, I just know it!

Great job Dan.

Could I get you to do a favor for me, and possibly some others here on the forum.

Could you take some comparison pics of the bottom side {along the bottom of the cab, and bed up to the wheels} of your 97 Ford Ranger, and the B?

I'm trying to see what other, more popular truck I can get ground effects to fit our B.

So far I have looked at a 90's GMC, and it looks like a good bit of fab work to make happen, but I haven't got the balls to crawl under someones truck in a parking lot to check.......lol.

this is the same process i used to remove those factory stripes, love the 3m eraser (thanks BAHA!)

That's a nice "how to" for stripping the stickers!
Maybe I'll give it a go... perhaps I don't need my teflon signwriter fingertips after all? (the right heat will remove anything! )
The best part of your how to... the fan!!!

Drill breaking your arm?
If a 9 inch grinder can't break mine you'll be fine

^^^^ this is a week later, it had some excellent colours.
23 stories up, off the side of a building... nothing like having to physically check to see if you're arm is broken! lol.

3m eraser is the only way to affectively remove without a major amount of time and arm breaking.

Mr Woodland, I believe the zerk fittings you need are m6 - 1 metric fittings. beware there are thread in and drive in, i only see drive in on tractor trailers but i have seen them at the parts store. but im 98% its m6 - 1 thread in. if you are referring to the upper control arm bushings you can take the plug out and take it with you. i put 90 degree fittings on mine and angled them out towards the wheel when i replaced the rods and bushings last year

DAN......the MAN! Hey, when all the suspension components are working in harmony, it sure drives great doesn't it!

I still remember my Father-in-law when he drove my first Mazda B truck I had, years ago........he couldn't stop talking about how well it rode for a small truck. He drove it from my house up to Lake City to watch the Saturday night oval track races and back home to my house (he had driven his camper van up and it was set up for the weekend to camp in our driveway......he's a trip!) I couldn't go for some reason or another, so I told him to take my little silver regular cab Mazda truck.......it was a good running 1986 B2000 truck, and I think he thought he was go-cart racing, there and back! He talked about that truck for months after that trip! I sold that truck for twice what I paid for it ($900.00 when I bought it) and I owned it for at least 5 years and put over 100,000 miles on it! It was the very first work truck I had ever owned that had A/C.........God I was tough back then!

As usual Dan, great job!!!

I know what you mean, about when you couldn't find the right zerk with a drawer full of em.

I had the same problem last week when I was blocking off the freeze/oil plugs inside the 351w. I had a drawer full of pipe plugs, but NONE fit what I was doing.

I just came across this thread. Really cool project. I admire your attention to detail and really cleaning this truck up.
I'd love to add the B-pillar covers to my truck someday. That really makes the interior look so much better!

Since you are in the process of redoing your fuel system, could you please help me out with this question?

Where did you purchase the bushings for the leaf springs and how much did the cost?
