Welp. Grinder vs. Pitman Arm. You decide who won.

All steering joints finished. (4 ball joints, 4 tie rods, idler arm, and Pitman arm)

Power steering box now installed.

Haha nicely done! I just did this exact thing to my truck not too long ago. (minus the grinder )

When I put power steering in my B I used all moog parts to replace the front steering and ball joints. It is amazing how tight the steering feels now. I can actually align it to spec, and the wheels aren't wobbling around when I drive!

You will be happy with it for sure.

well done. Enjoy your new steering!

Here are my parts fresh from the store, felt like christmas

The almighty 2.0L

Notice the power steering pump. Easier to leave it on than off.

... and oil pan gasket.

Oh, the leaks! Anyone got any good ideas for better caps? I got some from Advance, but they were obviously very cheap.

Got the engine pretty much torn down to what I need. Glad I looked because I need a new water pump.

While trying to get the crank sprocket off, I snapped some of the back plate off of it. Is the 2.2L and 2.0L crank sprockets the same?

And does anyone have any idea a good way to get the crank sprocket off when it's stuck?

Chipped the hell out of my 2.0 crank sprocket, but it finally came off. I compared the 2.2 sprocket (which lifted right out thankfully) and they look the same.

Cleaned the engine, and I'm cleaning parts as I put them back on. Reattached the oil pump and fuel pump block-off plate.

It's gonna be slow financially. Switching jobs with a good raise so hopefully things pick up soon.

All cleaned up. Not cleaning the valve cover because it will be replaced when I put the engine in the truck. Just waiting on crank seals and a water pump.

Crank seals are on. Crank sprocket is on. Bell housing cover plates are on. Flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate are on. Oil pickup tube and pan are on.

Waiting to buy the new water pump then back in the truck it goes.

Mounting bolts from both engines all cleaned up. Both engines were missing some bolts so hopefully we'll have a full set between the two.

My wife and I cleaned up the starter and alternator. Are these originals? Anybody know?
