Good idea. What's a typical solvent you might use?

I have used, Lacquer thinner, Gas, acetone, kerosene, all purpose solvents, brake clean, degreasers and many other random "cleaners"... for rust mostly a wire wheel.

I did a wire wheel, but I found out later a stripper disc works wonders.

Had timing issues, but they're now resolved.

Kept having brake issues. It slowly worked its way to where I had to mash them to the floor. I bled them many times, changed the brake booster, replaced hoses, checked check valve, etc. Still nothing. Then I noticed that while my fronts were slow to catch, my rears would lock up. So that led me to the master cylinder, since both fronts are on the end of the valve. Boy I got brakes that will snap your neck off now.

Found out the hard way that the "Meter" fuse runs the turn signal switch, back-up lights, and gauges.

Having an issue where I have no turn signals and no emergency flashers. Any tips would be appreciated.

Despite cleaning the tank, it was only down 11 gallons and the crap killed another fuel pump. Went with a Mr. Gasket 42S. Ordered a fuel tank and new front calipers.

New tank and front brakes, including pads, calipers, and braces. Now I'll quit killing fuel pumps, and it no longer shakes and pulls to the left when I brake.

Still gotta look into the flashers issue. I'm guessing my steering column multi-switch sticks thingy is gonna need replacing.

GAH! Head gasket! Maybe?

I was headed to work today, and as soon as I hit the interstate, it started missing badly. I pulled off to the side and popped the hood, and smoke started billowing out everywhere. Oil was gathering around the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the bolt-on cat. Got it home, and found that both #3 and #4 spark plugs are soaked in oil.

I'm not sure where the journey will lead with my truck. Debating all options, fixing, selling, waiting, etc.
