Yikes. I wish I had the motivation to dig through things like you do. If you get that distributor mod all set up and happy I might have to send a junkyard piece and some cash out to you. I'd love to run an electronic ignition on my truck, plus thats one step closer to running a decent ECU and EFI setup

Keep up the posts, can't wait for the next round!

^^ I've done the distributor mod to a B2000 and B2200 so far and both ran great (other than the feedback system shutting down on mine). One was my B2k with the Crane HI-6 and the other was a friends b22k with an MSD 6AL box. The reason I had to remove the HI-6 from mine is because of the factory carb. The ECU didn't like having so many inputs removed and basically stopped sending outputs to the duty cycle solenoid in the factory carb which caused it to run erratically. The new carb will fix this and allow me to finally remove the entire feedback ECU system.

Just shoot me a PM if you'd like for me to modify a distributor for you. I can knock one out in a day and get it back to you. If you get a junkyard unit and you have a B2200 I'd suggest getting one for a B2000. It's slightly easier to do and it has an easier advance unit to work on since it isn't buried in the bottom of the distributor like on the 2200's. I can do either and either will work for your application, but the B2000 dizzy is more user friendly for general maintenance.

Oh man, i'll see if the junkyard is to cold and muddy today lol. But honestly it would have to wait till after I get the truck running and move back to Cali. This would just make the truck that much more driveable.

I'm hoping more people get involved in making interesting parts. I remember one guy made big brake kits for these trucks, but after I tracked him down he wasn't super interested in making more. Half of the parts I've seen people make I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, but something like this that updates the technology of the truck and makes it run better is always an obvious choice.

No worries man, just whenever you're ready. I've got plenty to keep me busy LOL

We're looking at making some interesting stuff for these trucks and we only deal with stuff where the aftermarket has basically told the end user to go pound sand because they aren't buying 1000 units a month (you should see some of our turbo Festivas LOL). Plus we LOVE these trucks so we're in it for the long haul. We have some pretty neat stuff coming down the pipe, some of it's being tested on our personal trucks before we give it the stamp of approval and some of it's still in the development phase in that we're still rounding up parts and looking at suppliers to do it the way we want and make sure it's done right and dependable. We're really big on updating the 25+ year old tech with newer developments that have been made available since the platforms inception. These updates make it just as dependable and efficient (and in many cases more-so) than a newer vehicle. A lot of the stuff we're working on at the moment is related to replacing engine and spark management. I should have a pretty sweet update regarding replacing the entire ignition system within a couple of weeks. So far it's testing really well!!

^^ That's an understatement! The "irons" part, not the "slacker" part LOL. Well...ok, maybe a little bit of the "slacker" part
