hey guys im droping a 5.8 ford with a 4 on the floor into my B looking for the best way to make/mod the motor mounts? i know allot of you have done 302 swaps but i cant find info on the wider 351w thanks

351 is not wider.
302 and 351 are the same Windsor block.
Unless you have a BOSS motor.

You do not have a BOSS motor!

no it is not a BOSS and yes they are wider think about it the block is a Y shape and it has a taller deck height thus making it wider if it was not wider you could put a 302 intake on a 351w moving on.

Either you have a Y block, which was last built in 1962, or you have a Windsor block(successor to the Y block). If you have a Windsor block, it is the same as the 302. You're right about the deck height. It's almost 1-1/2 inches taller, but the motor mounts are the same.

Don't want to believe me???
Good luck then!

they are the same size width wise. I know from experience swapping a 302 into my 73 f100 that had a 351w. Plus SinCity is one righteous dude, he will not steer anyone wrong he is one the best sources of info on here ford chevy or mazda.

I concur. SCL knows his stuff.

Go with the 87-93 Mustang motor mounts and drill new slotted holes in your existing frame mounts.

i rest my case and yes the 302 and 351w are the same at the mounts not at the heads / headers where im having clearance problems also much deeper pan.

Why are you pissing about this??? You original question was about the motor mounts. That is what I was addressing!

im not trying to be pissy you just failed to see why i needed to make them and why just re-drilling the mounts on the truck would not work for me.... but it hardly matters as it bolted down to my newly made mounts that raise it up about 2in so my stock pan and shorty headers clear, sorry if that first question was confusing
