Im at an loss at the moment, can someone tell me where the red/white wire that has a connecter with the red/blue wire goes? Are all the green wires junctioned together to a point somewhere, seems i was a little carried away when removing wires. Also, does the large solid black wire go to the alternator, or is that the wire that triggers the starter?

An optima is NOT OKAY INSIDE THE CAB. It still has vents that can release hydrogen gas.

A sealed battery, like an odyssey is OK - but I still wouldn't do it and no sanctioning body would allow it in a race car.

When I got rid of my ECU, I depinned the white plug behind the glove box. The ONLY wires you need out of that whole mess are the 4 blue wires that go to the wiper motor and the black ground wire. It works best if you deloom that bundle of wires. It makes it easier to see where everything is going. I just used a small flat head screwdriver and stuck it in the back of my plug to press the little prong that held the wires in the plug. Worked great.

I'm thinking about putting all my headlight wiring behind the grill somewhere.

Im routing my wires through a hole i drilled 2 1/2" and under the fender, from there im going under the sheet metal where the corner lights go, to the inside section of the headlights and under the radiator support. Im also wiring in 2 e-fans (push style) while im at it so im making a harness for those wires. I have a relay mounted to an existing hole on the inner fender just above the harness on the driver side, i am using the ground block (the white piece of plastic with the ground wires inside) for the ground on the relay. Im wrapping everything with electrical vinyl tape and then im encasing it into plastic wire loom(black to hide everything better). Im also relocating the battery to behind the seat with a gel battery, i would use the bed but then it would probably get stolen, not to mention i have nothing to enclose it with atm. I still need to drill my holes on the passenger side so i can route the starter and alternator wires on that side, as well as figure out a way to route the wiper motor wires closer so i can hide those better. Where, and what size is everyone using to drill a hole on the passenger side? Im about to go outside and drop the truck with the torsion bars. All i need to do to finish my wire tuck now are to route the passenger corner lights, finish the e-fan harness with toggle switch, and the passenger side for the starter. I have 4 wires that as of right now have no home, so i am looking for what to do on those as well.

Hi everybody,
I am very new to automotive wiring so I was surprised by this thread,

are you guys saying that since I'm running a Weber I don't need my ECU at all?

the only wires I need in my engine bay are the ones for the windshield wipers and the ones for the small rectangle black fuse box?

thanks for the help

That is correct. The only wires you need that go through the firewall are 4 blue wires and a black wire. That's for the windshield wiper motor. I unplugged the white plug behind my dash that tied into the wire harness that goes through the firewall, pulled it all through the firewall and depinned it, only retaining the wires I needed.

That's correct, you do not need the ecm at all. However you need most/all the wires still from the drivers side. You only need the windshield wiper wires from the passenger.

Wierdest thing, I just got an engine light and a battery light this morning.

I have a new battery and I'll test the alternator but I wonder why the engine light came on. I thought that it was only a light to let us know that we needed to service the engine by coming on every 50,000 miles.

I found a video on how to get it to go off by switching the male conector.

I wonder why it would come on?
