hi, i have a quick question about my suspension. i'm not trying to lift or lower, haha. i use my truck as a work truck (91 b2600i) and the years have caught up with it. it can't handle much of a load without flattening the leaf springs. i was looking for a "add-a-leaf" type spring for this truck but couldn't come up with anything. do you know if there is one out there? looking for the cheapest fix because i just spent a ton on rebuilding the engine. :/

thanks

Simple and cheap . Air shocks

^^^psshh

since you're hauling stuff around you dont want to have to deal with the issues that come with air shocks... you ought to try the load carrying shocks. about $10 more at autozone than the air shocks, and without the same issues as the airshocks. they look like these and are a bolt on without having to run air line to a shared fill/dump point (which means air transfer between sides in corners or with unbalanced load)

guaranteed to add an instant 500lbs carry capacity increase to your ass.

thanks for the replies. i thought about all the air options but i'd rather not have to worry about having an air supply handy and the air options are also much more expensive then the load springs.

thanks again.

I've had both the air shocks from autozone and the load carrying ones shown above. I've been a lot happier with the load carrying ones than the air shocks, even after modifying the air shocks to use separate fill valves. The air shocks gave me nothing but problems from day one.

Thanks for the reply. Like I mentioned, I'd rather not deal with air, I like to fix it and forget it. It's not like I haul stuff everyday, just on weekend or when I have a project at home. That's why I'd rather use the leaf spring, it there when I need it and I don't have to worry about an air supply.

Anyone else know about load springs?

anyone?

I'm telling you, go with the load carrying shocks I showed you. Its a 15 min install, gives you an instant additional 500lb carry capacity. You could have put a set on last month, would have cost $75, and you wouldn't sill be asking about load springs.

sorry i think i missed that. i thought everyone was talking about air shocks.
are the load shocks vehicle specific? is it just a spring over a shock?
