you could just go down to mexico, take some u.s. plates, steal a crew cab, throw on u.s. plates and roll back over.

I wish it was that easy. I'm trying to find out what needs to be done to have one brought here. I know that different safety standards does not allow some makes and models to be sold or used/driven in the US.

The old style VW beetle Mex version is a prime example.

Ok when I was in Japan they told me I had to upgrade the doors and some of the other parts before I could bring a vehicle back.I cant remeber everything I was gonna bring a Scion back before they were ever out in the US back in like 99 I think.Your best bet would be to buy the peices and have them shipped over here but if your wanting the whole truck you might have to apply for a hobby title kinda like if you build a motorcycle.I cant remeber all that stuff that ya have to do to get a car changed over to US standards I had some type of booklet but hell Id have to find it they gave them out to us in the Marines before we came back overseas.

thats like the grandfather rights or some shit we have here in canada, you can only import a vehicle that is 15 years old or if you buy parts and make it, then you need to apply for a hobby title as a roadster.
