yeah it was doing it at idle too....i could drive like 30 mph without even touching that gas pedal. the rpms would climb pretty high just sitting at a stop light...i had to keep my foot on the brake and let the clutch out a lil bit to make the rpms go down. i ended up having it towed later on when i got done with school but yeah...it was explained to me like this: when the alternator goes out and the battery starts to get low on power, the motor thinks there is a shortage on power so it will spin the motor faster to compansate for the power loss and try to regain it back...but because the alternator was bad and my battery was getting low it was idling high and couldnt charge anything.
