The sump is the part on the bottom that is lower than the rest of the tank to provide a place for the fuel to gather. You don't need one. Its just where the pickup goes to keep the gas concentrated. My friend drug his sump last week. Bought a new tank this week withotu one.

I think the stock tank is 12, So I'm going to run this tank I not worried about the other 2 gals,But I do need a sump for the carbs and shit

I have a fuel cell on mine with no sending unit or guage....Just get a y fitting so the return just goes back into the main line
