isn't that what your supposed to do?

I was always taught that if you go any finer than a 400 grit on the primer, you will make it so smooth that the paint will peel off easily after awhile... Im all for wet sanding the primer, -i did mine, but nothing rediculous like 1500 and 2000 grit....

ive recently started to learn how to paint so im gonna go ahead and ask a few questions. lol. according to the tech sheet that came with my brand of paint it reccomends not to sand with anything finer than 400. i typically sand to about 320 and then prep and shoot. is this basically a rough guide line? as yotaman said, i thought the same thing, i thought the finer the sanding of primer would make the paint not stick as well and it would later flake off... also, what are the bennifits of wetsanding primer? as opposed to not? i mean is it a large night and day difference or does it just help in the overall appearance, does it make it easier to spray onto? etc. sorry for all the questions but ive been painting almost everything i own trying new things and whatnot, this seems like very good knowledge.

I'll see if i can get my bodyman to answer some of these questions for ya's. I wasn't there when they sanded it. But i think he usualy uses 400.
