Where are you going to mount your bags? and if you say off the notch I doubt you will get more then like 2" of lift. You should have definitely cut that thing down. The back of your truck would lay like a 22 or 24" rim. Only need around a 3.5" notch to lay an 18. Also you wont be able to just put another tab on the outside of that 4 link bar because he welded the head of the bolt to the frame. You will have to cut that off and weld the nut to the inside of the frame. Not hating at all just trying to give you some friendly advice. The work looks good, just need to change some things in the sake of better form and function.

Thats a good point, I didn't catch that. You would have to make some trick bolt on tab, or make a slash cut tube mount like I did on the upper bars on the Mazda.

I have behind the axle bags, I did everything on my truck not to look like every one elses truck My drive shaft tunnel is about 3 ins to big but that is the was I wanted, I get the drift of what you are saying but if I weld the nut to the inside of the frame it would be prett much the same thing that is on there now just reversed and dont see how that would be any strong I may make a bolt on tab for the outside of the bar later but I dont see my self shearing off a 5/16 grade 8 out of a 1/4 in piece of flat stock

wtf? 9/16?
i think you're takin this wrong dude. they're not crackin on you, they're tryin' to keep you safe and alive. "stud" mounting is cool for shock if its done properly, but just isn't a good idea for the axle location bars. I know everybody on the internet is a fuckin "professional" but this is no shit to mess w/ man. would you leave the inside plate out of your notch? no, but i've seen it done and heard, "it works just fine". Well maybe, but it will eventually fail, way too much stress, failure eminent. And again, we're not bustin your balls here man, just tryin to help out.

P.S. and for the purposes of this post only, Disregard my sig. no sarcasm intended.

for this reson is why i don't post my pics anymore. i get way to much shit about about my setup but i know its good and thats all that matters to me

Maybe 9/6 I dont remember right now or maybe 5/8??? I dont take it as cracking on me I take it all with a grain of salt, I understand what you all are saying and in hindsight I may have done something different I'm working on something now for a bolt in tab made out of my old short flat 4-link tabs, By no means did I say I was a pro but I myself have never seen a 8 bolt shear off

I have seen Grade 8 bolts shear off when used improperly on suspension components. That is the only time.

No one was giiving him flack, just trying to help him out. I seen a few things with that setup that would be easier to chane now then to have the truck fail and hurt someone. If you say that it only matters to you then that doesnt make sence. Why not take the advice of people that have built dozens of rides, and the people that know exactly what will or will not work

**PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE THAT TRUCK ON THE ROAD. THE LOAD YOU ARE PUTTING ON THE BOLT IS TO MUCH, ALL THE FORCE FROM THE REAR END IS GOING TO BE PUSHING AND PULLING ON THAT LITTLE FUCKING BOLT ALL DAY LONG, DO A BURNOUT I DARE YOU! IM NOT TRYING TO BE AN ASSHOLE IM TRYING TO KEEP YOU ALIVE, YOU NEED TO MAKE A 4 LINK TAB MOUNT, A MOUNT THAT BOLTS IN THE BUSHING ON BOTH SIDES AND FORCES THE LOAD ON TO THE METAL, AND TAKES IT OFF OF THE BOLT.

I THINK YOU ARE DOING A FINE JOB ON YOUR FIRST BAG JOB PROJECT, HOWEVER I WOULD SEEK OUT ADVICE AND DO A WHOLE BUNCH OF READING WHEN IT COMES TO SUSPENSION AND TRAVEL, PUSHING PULLING ETC. GOOD LUCK, IF YOU NEED HELP FEEL FREE TO CALL ME, I WOULD RATHER SPEND 2 HOURS ON THE PHONE EXPLAINING SOMETHING TO YOU THEN HAVE YOU TAKE A CORNER TO FAST AND BLOW THAT REAR END OUT THE SIDE OF YOUR TRUCK,. POSSIBLY TAKING OUT A MOTORCYCLE RIDER AND SENDING YOU INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND GETTING FUCKING KILLED.

TO THE GUY THAT SAID, "THIS IS WHY I DONT POST MY PICS" YOU ARE THE KIND OF PEOPLE THAT CAUSE ACCIDENTS, AND NO IM SURE YOU DONT "KNOW" ITS GOOD, BUT IM SURE YOU MAY "THINK" ITS GOOD. GOOD LUCK TO YOU, I WONT MAKE ANY COMMENTS BECAUSE I HAVENT SEEN THE WORK YOU ARE NOT POSTING.

There is way too much force there for a single shear application. Why not do it right?

Some things I can understand doing differently to be out of the norm but you also have to understand there are reasons alot of things are done the way they are. A single shear 4 link mount isnt an 'original and cool idea'. Its unsafe.
