Hi
i picked up this yota about two years ago, i stumbled across it in a local trader mag, at the time i was working on a 79 yota, it had major front end damage, i bought a 81 cut the front end off and gave the 79 a new front end, the motor siezed on the 79. not my fault i had a cover over the engine and the place i was storing it at a guy there decided he needed the tarp for something so he ripped it off and rain poured i to the engine over a few weeks and screwed it, on my way to find a 18rgeu twin cam motor i found a 82 truck locally with the motor already modified and running in the truck so i bought it with no gearbox or bed and used the three trucks to make one decent 82.
i took the 82 off the road last easter to bag it and got carried away and have redone things many times cos i was stll learning the whole way but now basically the frame is still in my garage all most finished with the following work done
airide notch
shortened frame 240mm so i have the shortbed look.
tuck shop cante 4 link
stock floored
zed notched
umm another zed notch up front to lower the cab horns
castor rods gone, hoping to make some adjustable half lowers
1987 IFS setup.
chassis tech drop spindals, the only one i could get in the country at the time.
shaved gearbox xmember, no spare tyre xmember
18rgeu motor
shaved cab n doors n tubbed firewall but havent really worked much on the body in a while.

ok cool, ill post some this week, i have to rebag he front because the new spindals messed up the angles and i want lots of lift.
thanks for answering my email ages ago about the 84+ IFS ages ago seth, helped a lot.
so yeah ill rebag the front, and cap the stockfloor and clean up the rear this week if im feeling well enough.

my first toyota was a 1981 toyota small bed 4x4 i do miss alot that little toy when i will find the box with pictures i will post all the toyota i did own

hey seth what tube did u use for your rear and did you use your hydrolic bender to bend em.
i have a load of 32mm seam tube and a 16 tonne bender but it just crushed a short length with a tight bend.

the upper control arm mount?
took the outer skin off it cos it wasnt doin anything and put the nuts back on it
