When the truck runs good I'll see how much I have left over, i'm down to about 1400 now. Hopefully by then I'll have a job, and when I get enuf then I'll start buyin stuff.

Would the front end from the 79-81 trucks fit mine? I mean the round headlights, and the wrap around front bumper. I think I'd probly just need the headlight housing thing to fit the round headlight, other than that I dont see why not.

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks for all the help.

Still waiting on the freakin carb and carpet!!!

Yeah just swap to the round headlight housings. You'll have to drill some holes to fit them, but thats about it. I have an 83 core support on my truck (mine was smashed) with the stock front end.

Is that a factory center console?

What is the truck doing? I went through every carb issue with my truck, I might be able to help.

Yes it is the factory console, I used Dupli-Color's Plastic and Vinyl paint. I doubt it will last long but I don’t want to have that center console forever. I would like to build one with a sub enclosure eventually.

And the carb, with the old one the idle was very choppy at about 800-1000 RPMs, and there was lots of black smoke out the tail pipe. But if you took it for a drive around the block driving really fast then when you got back it would idle great. With the new one, you turn the truck on when it’s cold and it goes to like 2000 RPMs without touching the pedal and then after about ten seconds it will back off and then slowly die. The smoke is now grey and when you drive around the block and come back it idles at 800 RPMs semi-choppy. If you don’t drive it very long, every time you stop and come down to idle speed it will just die.

Also, there are three extra vacuum tubes that come off of the new carb that weren’t on the old one. If you need pix I can get them tomorrow. I'm wondering if the truck is the 49 state model, and the carb is the California emissions model.

Damn, that was a long one.
