well the stock toyota rear is 4:11,combine that with a 3 speed and it's gonna take off like bat out of hell, but interstate driving is gonna suck, and suck out all your gas.the 2:75 gear will allow the truck to perform best at interstate speed, actually get some gas mileage, and I'm thinking it should have plenty of bottom end power due to the power to weight ratio.since I don't intend to drag race this thing, and why have all your power on the bottom end where it's just gonna spin anyway without some half flat sticky slicks, lol.I think this gear will allow the truck to be comfortable to drive day in and day out,and should still be able to roast the tires at any given time.I plan to daily drive this thing when it's finished.and would like to drive it to all the shows next year.she should be a bad mo fo at a 70mph roll on though!IF I can keep from lighting up the tires

well you can get toyota rears with 3.07 or 3.08 gears from a 1ton, but it makes more sense to use a ford rear just in the fact that you're using a ford trans. You've got a c4 I assume?

not much new....picked out a edelbrock high flow water pump for the 5.0 ,going to drop em wear show saturday, then start narrowing the 9"in. next week. macdave I'm thinking that 331 stroke would work great for me since I'm bored 0.30 over already, and going with new crank, rods and pistons anyway.just order the 3.25 stroke instead of the 3.00(I think that's right, lol)

sounds right. I know more about chevy than ford but I know a 327 is 3.25" stroke 4" bore. I believe its a 327ci without the overbore.
