that prop. valve on the back gave me a hell of a time too man- before i figured it out. the valve has one line that supplies pressure from the master cylinder, the other two- one goes to the rear brake drums and the other reverts the excess press back to the front discks. this has to happen because drum brakes dont need as much pressure to work as the front brakes do so the prop valve was put in so when the truck is unloaded half of the pressure goes to the front to keep the rear from locking up. the valve is marked with arrows to let you know which is the supply from the master cyl.any othe q's let me know! i have done a lot of research on this because i didnt want my brakes to screw up, cuz mine is a daily drvr!

It also has to do with weight in yoru bed. If theres a load ti brakes harder. My friend modified his to brake like there was a load all the time. But this was a truck with 35s. Lol.

And dude, grade 8 bolts. Not grade 5 or less.

So modifyd did you just take the 2 lines from the front get rid of the valve and put a T on them or do you have a proportioning vavle still?

I was at Slammin this last weekend and there was a toyota there i dont know if anyone has seen it but its the one w/ the stars in the lower rear. he did his like i was thinkin. just put it behind the rear and bent the bar to give it a false reading.

the valve is gone-i installed the t instead of the valve, this way the brakes in the rear will act like they would if it was normal and unloaded to keep the brakes from locking up if you have to get on em hard. i havent had any prob so far.i like the look without the prop valve.

besides if you bend the bar to give it a "false reading" it is defeating the purpose of having it in the first place. if you are trying to fool it then depending on how you do it you will have a prob with the brakes lockin up when u are ridin low!
any more q's send me an e-mail or im me and i will help ya all i can!
