On my truck(85) There is a bolted in brace that connects the frame together side to side and it drags what did everyone do about it? I was thinking about building another one but tucked in the frame rails.
Which brace is it? Is it the one below the engine?
I took mine off to body drop it then I bolted it back up and dragged the snot out of it....
Seth its the one that right under the tranny where the frame curves.....4 bolts hold it in
My truck might not have had that. I had an engine crossmember, and a tranny crossmember. The trns crossmember is welded in, the engine crossmember has 4 bolts.
it is in between the welded trans member and the engine member 4-bolts hold it in
drag the shit out of it!!!!!!!
if it is the round hollow tube, then just un bolt it,doesn't seem to affect anything,I don't know anybody with a toyota that left it on there.
Thats what I want to know,if it affects straight line stability and cornering I plan haveing a hot 22r motor
I'm going to assume you are going to bag your truck and at the least lay frame? If so you don't need it,if you want better handling run 8 valves and it will corner a lot
better, due to the fact that each bag has it's own pressure, instead of letting the air go back and forth during hard cornering as with 4-valve set-ups,if you must you could weld or bolt in another crossmember inside the frame rails, but you don't need it
Cool it is coming off tomorrow
Thanks
