is a reverse 4link 'going towards the ground' oppose to 'going upwards'??

sorry again like i said ima noob as far as terminology, but once i learn it, im str8.

but to tell you the truth though, i dnt THINK i need that much of a lift around these parts, as we dnt have any manholes or catchbasins, etc stickin up out of the ground.

being that i dnt want a shitty ride i dnt want to go bag over axle thats for sure.

That's a good kit, you want a 8 piece kit so you can weld inside the plates as well as on the outside!! Also you should use a 220 welder !

yeah the bag over axle is common setup. its rides better than stock but 4 link systems with the bags on the bars ride better. i basically have the same setup as seth only he ran another set of bars to the rear of the truck to mount his bags behind the axle. i have the same link system, only with the bags over the axle. here's a pic of the link i have. im happy with it.

still in the process..

hold on im gettin mixed vibes here...i just read that the bag over axle is a shitty ride, but then your saying that the ride is better than stock, but its not better that having the link suspension...

a forward facing link system is where the link bars connect to the rear end and connect at the rear of the cab. a reverse 4 link is where the link bars connect on to the rear end but connect at the back of the truck. i have a three link.

with having the bags over the axle you do loose lift and the ride IS better than stock. but the ride quality on 4 links is typically a better ride because you have more leverage on the bags. im running 4 ply contitech bags which also help with ride quality. contitech makes 2-plys and 4 ply bags. with a thicker bag, it slows down the spring rate (the bouncyness) along with my mono shock to absorb what the bags dont. working together it gives a good ride. im not saying its the best but my kidneys dont hurt nor does it bounce all around and it rides better than stock.

ok thanks for the explanation brought ALOT of light to the situation. i thought that when it was said a shitty ride it meant worse than stock.

so w/ this 'monoshock' is this just buying a dropshock or what?? im unsure about this.

but at least now im going w/ 4ply bags to absorb some of the 'shell shock' lol

i have a bags on axle with a 4-link setup and i like it mine doesn't ride shitty because im using such stiff ass bags( slams he8) that theres not much spring action with them so i get a pretty good ride

almost everyone ive asked bout bags over axle have said almost the same thing 'it rides shitty' so it seems that it takes more to do w/ bags over axle to get a better ride, so i think im going to go w/ a setup similar to seth. so im going to just get my frame notched in a few months, and start piecing together my parts and start learning about the valves and etc..

i got my bags mounted over the axle...it rides ok but i get very little lift. i'm about to change my set up and mount the bags on the lower bars

does somebody have the geometric dimensions or slope of an 8" notch so i can tell they guy who is going to do my notch to have something to work w/
