That "tiny pin" is the factory bolt that held the load of the original leaves.but the leafs had bushings to deal with forces being applied to the pins, heims have no play and can crack that pin or bend it very easily. I would try to look at some of the corvette irs people have on their trucks here and adapt it to your setup.

I was at new england dragway last wednesday, and asked the tech about bags, and he said it was cool as long as i had 3" minumum ground clearance, and kept the truck aired up.

Funny cars dont have suspension. the rear ends are solid mounted as are the front spindles. solid mounted to arms off the frame

second...they arent two links. they are ladder bar and trailing arm setups. 2 link is a minitrucker term.

Thanks Big Joe, I get what your saying about the bushings taking out some stress. I should be able to incorporate a bushing there , just never thought about it. Any more help is appreciated!!!

Whoa, thanks for all the info and replies. I am seeing that most people believe that it would work, if it was setup correctly. It seems the ART is the easiest system, but I would like more travelled to lay it out. I would think the same performance could be achieved with a setup of Slam Specialties and some nice adjustable shocks relocated. Also, with the right winkage in the back.

I also liked the idea of making it able to put some coils in the back for strip use. This seems like a safer way for the 1/4. It would be nice to be able to just run on bags and then be able to drop it after.

Just trying to get every1s opinions and the most information possible on a bagged truck with lots of torque and HP. I was going to post pics of my arms and linkage, but could only load them in my profile. Thanks.

art is easiest but mabey not the best, i would totally plate brackets and mounts alot more then the bolt on art kit would ever see. Make it yourself and be happier that its more industrial.

what i would do in this situation is setup a good strong 4 link and bag it how you please, then set it up where you can bolt in coilovers when you have it on the track...

not to be an ass.....but if that car runs 7s in the 1/4...its NOT on the street and its NOT on bags. Second...i see youre in South Carolina.....the majority of the tracks in SC and the rest of the south ARE 1/8th mile tracks. Half of those are outlaw tracks with no sanctioning bodies backing them, thus their tech rules are fairly nonexistent or flat out crapy. I HIGHLY doubt that car is running 7s, dragging on the street, and hooking up that well with bags. Thats too much power and too much motor work to running a street motor. And a car that fast would NOT pass tech on airbags. Im honestly surprised tracks are letting vehicles pass tech with airbags in anything except a Street class. Many tracks will say no to that

first of all, i didn't say that i was in sc when i saw the car and secondly i didn't say it was a street car and also, it i saw it on tv, the exact same car, running and showing his bag setup talking about the car.

OK GUYS>> for those who call me a moron. go to any show in the south and look at my truck. its obvious that i can build a truck so shut u'r damn mouth. and i was pullin a 1.63 sec 60ft.. i had plenty of bracing and plenty of planning and designing into my system. u think i'm a moron, race me. while u'r slow pokin around on u'r bags tryin to show boat, i'mma pass u doin 100+ mph with no problem. i tried bags on the 1/2 mile strip. it does not f***'n work. get it through u'r head. a serious drag vehicle will not leave the line consistantly without somethin failing. and no a leaf spring is not better than a link setup. leafs are terrible. stupid TARD... friggin neeger. and at 115mph u'r bags are gonna start swayin side to side anyway. i bet u've never even been that fast to try it though have u? much less run 115 in the 1/4 mile.. stupid. goodbye. http://www.layinbody.com/gallery/stc06/aauhttp://www.dropjawmag.com/2006/showfest/rides/pages/DSC00195.htmhttp://www.dropjawmag.com/2006/showfest/rides/pages/DSC00196.htm
