this is the front beam set up on a 67-72, possibly the same as a 65? It's a twin I beam setup, terrible for what we do.

not much room until you hit bumpstop up front, even removing that only gets you about an inch, and no telling how much camber. At some point (maybe even before hitting frame) your going to hit the cross member.

I was thinking about seeing if its possible to put the newer 84-96 lowering I beams on my 77. I know I would need to change the pivot point brakets, the spindles, and the radius arms. Also if I remember correctly the steering is in front of the engine crossmember instead of behind it, like on the 77. But I would be upgrading to a newer balljoint type suspension. I was just wondering if anyone has done this or even considered doing it. I'm not trying to high jack the thread I was just wondering if this may be a viable option. Because the newer trucks come closer to laying out with bags and three inch drop beams.

All that work to swap to a different I beam setup in my opinion would not be worth it. All that work could go to a different a arm frame clip under it.

let me tell you something. the purists are out in full force on these f-100's right now. I got my head bit off for asking about clipping a chevy for my frame.

Well, There has been a little progress on it since that for sale was posted, so I think it would be around $3k for it, maybe less, but it's a pretty nice truck... downside is that it's in peices now... If the price doesn't sound way out of wack, post up your email or IM it to me and I'll send you some pics of it...
