i was told to pull the battery cable when disconecting the air bag, also i have a static strap which decreases the chance of static that could make the air bag go off "so i was told" but is there really any danger to disconecting the air bag?

The adapter for a newer s-10 will be the same as a fullsize chevy truck. I don't know with Lecarra, but with Grant, the only difference is in the lenght of the adapter itself. The Grant adapter for the s-10 is shorter than the Fullsize. Then the newer s-10 need more room for the flasher stick....so the fullsize adapter is the best.

If the Lecarra adapter are all the same in dimensions, just order an adapter for an older s-10 or sonoma (like 93).

If the wheel do not have the horn button, usually they do come with a shiny piece to replace it.

I hope this helps a bit.

I wouldn't try to disconnect it by myself. I would try to have it at a repair shop where they do this all the time...It's cheaper than having the airbag blown in your face.

Just my .02$

when i got my fire wheel and adapter from Colorado Customs I told them I had a 99 sonoma and they said the chevy works on most years but does not say the newer years because of the airbag since they say you cant take them off. I just got the standard size wheel. My friend got the fire wheel in the truck size which is like 15 inches or so and that thing is big. also cost more money

Ours are 13.5" in diameter and it feels pretty good driving it. It's not too small, even in a fullsize. Check in my profile to see what it looks like in a fullsize chevy truck.

um yeah read my how-to. Colorado customs lied to u. Its illegal to pull the air bag off but if your like anyone I'm sure there is more on the truck that is illegal than no air bag. Just get the 96+(i think thats it) adapter. Mine was a colorado custom hancock with CC adapter. Bolted right up with no problems.

the only part i feel is kinda f**ked up, is that you have to take out the passenger air bag.

there might be a way to re-wire the air bag on the passenger side.

Take out the passenger air bag? Not in an s10? I would think the pass airbag would still function even if the steering wheel bag was un hooked. IF u still had the fuse in. I left mine out but from what I've heard u can put it back in but the pass air bag is useless anyways, I don't think anyone keeps that thing on even with passengers.
