I painted, airbrushed, pinstriped every bit of my own car and am damn proud of it!!! LOL For my first full custom paint job I dont think it came out bad at all! All it takes is practice and some knowledge of what to do and what not to do....

so all of you that have painted your own, except matt (chevydriver5k5), did you paint it in the garage? I'm starting to think about the painting process, doing body work now. My main thing is I dont want the inside of my garage fogged the color of my truck, so I was thinking about tacking up some plastic around the walls and what not, keep the dust down too, but the fumes are going to be killer I know.
any helpful sugestions?

I'm planning on painting my truck in my garage. I'm gonna line the ceiling, walls & floors with visqueen and make a visqueen shield for the garage door opening with a fan in it with some sort of filter cloth over it.

a lot of people paint their own rides. i just advise you that it will only come out as good as ur prep work will allow it. spray a lil at a time and u cant go wrong. dont try to paint the whole truck/car in one wet coat. if there is a lot of trash in it afterwords get it cut and buffed and it should be fine.

Ive painted my nissan and did all the body work and evrthing elce but i also paint anywhere from 3 to 7 cars a week. the joy of being a painter. It makes it easyer to work on your own stuff when you are a manger of a paint and body shop.
