Shift lever bearing removal HELP!

OK, so i've disassembled my 5speed tranny for beautification, I got the bellhousing, front case, and intermediate plate taken care of, but now i've got a problem. there are two bearings that the shift lever shaft rides inside of, how the hell do you get them out without destroying them?

not really sure, i never had to remove mine. why do they need to come out if there isnt anything wrong with them?

plastic is not a fan of the powdercoating process.

only thing I can suggest is having them pressed out but there isn't a guarantee they can be reused.

Are you rebuilding this after its powdercoated ? You've got it torn down this far might as well.

Your powdercoating the inside? or is that the outside?

its a pretty solid trans, and i didnt find any shrapnel in the case, so i'm not gonna screw w/ the internals.

OH, and another question, when disassembling, I had a brass washer or bushing, looks like a thick washer fall out, i assume it goes into one of the holes behind a shift shaft in the extension housing, but it kinda fell out. Where does the brass washer go?

ummm, im doing the outside. probably not a good idea to do the inside.

Yeah, I know, it just looked like the inside to me. But then again i've never seen the inside of one. lol

the pics are of the inside, but theres alot of heat used in the process, so any plastics must be removed.
