Im gonna post this again because I really want to know. it sounds like something i would like to do while i am attending college.

what exactly do painter's helpers do? What kind of experience do you need to get a job as a painters helper? Would it be a good job for a student attending college full time to be a painter's helper?

a painters helper helps prep the cars for paint you will also help masking off cars for primer and doin the priming
you will be edging parts and making the paint you kinda need a little bit of knowledge but when i did it i was taught as i went along
the money is not good at first but as the yr`s go by you might be able to make some money or go on commission
i said the same thing to my self just support goin to college and 10 yrs later i am still doin it so it`s really up to you if you want to do this

Is it something that someone with only a basic knowledge of bodywork and even more basic knowledge of painting get a job doing (at a lower wage) and learn while they are doing it? Or do you need to know your stuff before doing it? I would love a job where I can learn to paint cars since I have been wanting to learn for a while now (just dont have the place to do it)

i am a dealership bodyshop manager. i pay the bodymen 15 flat a hour, 16 for painters
bodymen in this area make about 80,000 a year and good painters 100,000 a year

ANY PAINTER THAT IS A TRUE PROFFESIONAL SHOULD NOT MAKE LESS THAN 75K A YEAR. IF YOUR ARE MAKING LESS YOU HAVE A SHITTY JOB OR YOU SUCK AT PAINTING.

I RUN THE BODYSHOP AT A CUSTOM SHOP IN SUBURBAN PHILADELPHIA AND I MAKE 23 AN HOUR FLAT RATE. I ALSO HAVE NO HELPERS AND DO EVERYTHING MYSELF, INCLUDING PREP ASSEMBLY AND BODY WORK. I ALSO RECIEVE 10 HOURS MANDATORY FOR CLEAN UP ORDERING, BILL WRITING AND DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS EVERY WEEK.

I USED TO WORK AT AN AUTO AUCTION WHERE I PRODUCE 75 TO 150 PAINT HOURS A DAY. MY PAY RATE WAS 3 DOLLARS A PAINT HOUR. WHICH SOUNDS LOW BUT IF YOU ADD IT UP ITS OVER A GRAND A WEEK. THAT KIND OF WORK, HOWEVER IS MONOTONOUS AND BORING. WHICH IS WHY I QUIT.

WHAT THATS NOT TRUE IF YOU MAKE UNDER 75,000 A YEAR AS A PAINTER THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU SUCK AS A PAINT BESIDES IF YOU WERE MAKEING A 1000 A WEEK PAINTING THATS ONLY 52,000 A YEAR DID YOU SUCK
