Hey everyone, Im lookin for pics and advice for a putting a york compressor on my 91 yota. I went and got one yesterday from the junkyard for 31 bucks so i think im gonna give it a shot and see how it works. I wanna get rid of my bottle and dont want to run an electric comp. Also....what kind of oil should i put in this thing? It looks to me that you would put the oil in on the side of the comp where the one bolt is. Is that correct? Im sure there will be more questions to come! Thanks in advance!!

you will want to run mobil 1 10w30 synthetic oil and lucas oil additive! i run that in mine and i run my compressor to 260 psi daily!

and yes you want to take the bolt out of the side and put oil in there!

does it matter if its ran horizontal or vertical? i have seen some both ways just wondering which way is best.

vertical will be the best remember this is a crank case on this just like a motor..it has a piston and rod

Not to start a argument but I wouldnt run a mixed weight oil. In all of my yorks and customers yorks I run straight weight 30 compressor oil. Also you can mount it how you like as long as the intake/suction side is higher then the output/pressure side.

Eric is 100% correct....i run lucas in mine just for reassurance...i love lucas!! lol but strait 30wt is great!

Yea..strait 30 wt non detergent is whats recommended. Make sure u check the oil frequently for the first month or so. ur gonna want an oil trap before the tanks cuz they do spit oil through ur lines. also, i found a good idea to run hard line(something other that DOT) to the separator, cuz the air/oil is hot. Like the other guy said, the bolt in the side of the compressor is where the oil needs to be put in. Add 12 ozs to start with.
