where can i get a good water/oil seperator from? how far from the compressor do i mount the seperator? would it be ok to run a steel braided line from the output to the seperator?

you can go to www.onboardair.com or even go thru Jason at suicidedoors.com. They arent really oil/water seperators, more like water traps that catch the majority. Haha, anyway you can run a braided steel line for about 24-20" and then the seperator. The further the cooler the charge before it hits the filter, but it doesnt make much of a difference.

check out my profile for some alright pics of the bracket I made for mine. It was real simple just made a bracket that bolts to the stock power steering bracket, that way you can use its tensioner, works great. been daily driven for over a year now with zero problems.

Hey everyone, Im lookin for pics and advice for a putting a york compressor on my 91 yota. I went and got one yesterday from the junkyard for 31 bucks so i think im gonna give it a shot and see how it works. I wanna get rid of my bottle and dont want to run an electric comp. Also....what kind of oil should i put in this thing? It looks to me that you would put the oil in on the side of the comp where the one bolt is. Is that correct? Im sure there will be more questions to come! Thanks in advance!!

Were did u find a yark in a junk yard

Any domestic car from the 60s to 70s had them. I usually get them at Oreillys for about 75. tell them 1977 Ford f100 a/c compressor. It will have big male ports, just take off the head, and tap the inside of the ports to 1/4 inch npt. No drilling required. There is a oilflow port behind the pulley shaft cover plate. I usually tap those out to a m10 thread, and put in a female allen head screw. This will keep you from running oil into your tank. I would put on oiler on the intake side, just to help the pistons and rings. Use steel braid line or copper, or stainless for exhaust. brackets are simple. cut a 7" by 7" piece of 3/8 that will bolt to either side of the York with the four 3/8 bolt holes, set it on either side of the motor, use a laser and a straight edge to line it up with another pulley that has tension adjustment, then make brackets that bolt to the block and weld to the 7x7 plate. I have a 89 model out back, I will try and post pix over the next few days. Got questions, give me a shout. I can cnc cut the brackets for those interested.
