that clear plastic is probably whats inside that black can, idk i havent opened it yet

no, that black can is likely the charcoal canister. Dont open that.

There is no cover over the fuel filter, it is right at the back of the head and looks just like the picture provided.

mines on the passenger side of the engine compartment its between my carb and control arm.. its a white/yellowish plastic canister thing
primerd85   +1y
maybe the problem is you dont have a fuel filter
CENCAL559   +1y
if only that were possible then my dawg wouldnt be running shitty
CENCAL559   +1y
i found my fuel filter, it was not milky white, russ-d that charcoal canister was the fuel filter i replaced it and now my dawg is running better than ever, when i pulled it out the gas was brown, not semi green or clear but brown, now my dawg is running all over the place of visalia california

sorry bout that, somehow I missed your post about it being fuel injected. Oops! Although, if I was right even 51% of the time I would be a millionaire!

Glad it worked out for you though.

As for the white filter for carbureted engines, if your truck is manual it will be in the engine compartment mounted to the passanger side fenderwell. If you have an automatic it will be the same filter under the bed. That is why there is a discrepency.
