hey I just had a quick idea:

what if on a mcpherson strut equipped vehicle, you cut the part where the top of the strut bolts to the vehicle, let it raise up, essentially lowering the car, then welded in filler metal?

yes I know you are going to run into clearance issues with the hood, but if you could get around that, wouldn't it work? and wouldn't it ride like stock?

yes, it will work

yes it will ride similar, you have think think about the suspension design in the control arm/spindle below.

Yes it will look like shit when you have to large salad bowls on your hood to cover your new towers of power.

So... I suggest, doing it a different way.

If you don't also raise the lowers it will cause a serious amount of positive camber when you drop it.
And when the tire tips out you might not be able to drop it all the way because the tire might hit the fender.

Ive done it a few times and it works fine, Just be carefull about your measurements and adjust for positive camber because just like chris said it will get some. I would only go as far as you can without touching the hood which is usually only about 1.5" but sometimes that makes all the difference.

there's a beretta in my town, that did it roughly 5"

it's hot.

and yes, he DID use SALAD Bowls, to cover the up.

SCORE!

here's the thing, I don't want to bag it, it's just a daily and I want to lower it just a little but do something different than springs or struts

you dont want to bag it... then why would you make it that low and not be able to raise it???

Thats alot of work just to lower something and not put adjustable suspension on it, why not go ahead and bag it or whatever while you have it apart
