130 amp alternator upgrade for the b2200 for under 150.00

this write up is just what i was looking for. my sterio and compresers are killing my truck!! and it looks cheaper then beefing my alt up!!

I THINK THE BIGGEST YOU CAN GET IN OUR STOCK SIZE IS AROUND 80-100.... POWERMASTER CAN BUILD ONE ABOUT THE SAME AMPERAGE AS MINE FOR OVER 200 PLUS SHIPPING..... THIS SWAP IS CAKE.....AND CHEAPER TO BOOT.

does the alt have to be from a cobra or will any 95 mustang with a v8 work?

the cobra specific alt. is 140 amps.......

anybody figure out whether you can do this in a b2600???

I jus looked em up and they look like they mount the same, the only difference i see is a 2200 alternator is 55 amps and a 2600 is 60 amps.. I dunno, maybe?? haha

i realize this is a bit late..... but i would imagine any alternator from a mustang would work, but i sat at the parts house for 2 hours looking thru all the alternators they had, i ended up with the 95 cobra alternator. it had the most output and bolted up fairly easily. i say just look into it and try to find an alt with the output you are needing.

im pretty sure the cobra only as the other cars wont have as many power accessories as the cobra nice write up by the way
