^^ no you cant cut a strut itself to shorten it. You can however cut off the mounting tabs if you have a Macpherson strut and move those up to lower the vehicle. BUT, you could ruin the strut from the heat of re-welding the tabs back on. Also, you may notice that it says to not heat the strut, it is under pressure. And also, if you dont weld those tabs on there good you'll be in a world of hurt when your wheel falls off going around a corner. Also, I cant believe you actually told someone from KUSTOMWERKS that what he said was not correct! And I do agree, either modify the upper strut tower mount by raising it, and/or modify the bearing mount assembly by making it shorter as well.

this strut does not have tabs it slides in the wheel assembly and yes there is room to cut alittle off cause there is nothing there it is hollow but not enough to give good drop and how can it have fluid if it has an air bleeder on the bottom

remember your half shafts. from the cars i've delt with, there's not much room between the bottom of the strut and the half shaft. i don't know about airlift, but aim will make struts any size you want.

a frind of mine took his stock struts on his 02 civic and thay pryd off the upper seal where the small saft slides into the big tube and thay dumped out the oil into a mesuring cup and then cut down the tube and re-assembled it and used the unaversale air struts and it worked great the othere thing is on alot of easy street struts the bsgg bottoms out befor the shock dose to work as a bumpstop if you can lower the bottom plate for the bag it may give you more drop. also put the uper plate on the top of the strut tower it sould drop it about 1/2".

i wouldnt put the plate on top of the strut tower... this would mean the car would be held up by the bolts! they are not designed for that, they will break on one good pothole and then itl go through your hood

dont sound very safe to me

We cut the tabs on mine and raised them 2". The tabs are part of a metal "ring" that is welded to the strut. Just popped the welds off, moved them up, and rewelded them back in place slowly to keep from heating it too much. No strut fluid leaks or any other problems, and it was daily driven up until about a month ago.
