well since flowmaster 40serries are high flow low back pressure and you have a older motor you can possibly have your vlaves stick if there is not enough back pressure...belive me my 98 tahoe did it and I had to rebuild the heads. so that is why i said possibly use a cross over pipe....my 02sims have burnt out twice I orderd the ones from jegs they are real nice about taken them back and resending them but it just sucks to do it...my ses light is on but truck runs fine with or with out the sims. I know alot about this because any problem you can have with exhaust system Ive had and fixed.
