get a hold of "Laynrockers" on here. once you shorten those half shafts your arms will be too long. Also that pattern is a 5 on 4 1/4" you may need to do a hub swap.

Yes i need more bracing any sugestions on were to put some? also how easy is a hub swap could I posible use the one's of me old axle? And can u realy cut the half shafts in half and weld it back together? doesnt sound right. I was thinking of looking at some front weel drive fords shafts and finding one that is 3 or so inches shorter and just swaping the joints on the ends if posible!

Honestly man, I'd probably back half the truck if I was going to do IRS on mine. It would be cleaner, and easier to mount everything.

And you can probably get the hubs redrilled by a machine shop. I had some fronts redrilled for $25 each at a small machine shop.

just remember if you shorten the shafts you will half to shorten all 4 control arms .. i would of gotten a narrower irs..

you are going to have a hard time just swaping half shafts. all the ends are splined and the number of splines have to match and they need to fit the bear properly. heres a write up to gewt to a 4 on 5.5 for mustangs pattern..

if you redrill for the wheel studs then they need to redrill the drum. it slides over the studs.

How would that work if you have drums out back?

usually you look into these sorts of things BEFORE cutting the back of your frame off.

not sure flathead, i didn't read it i just knew where to findi it. i haven't done it myself.
