what kind of price range you lookin for?

Yeah skip the 6.2, and skip the idea of swapping in the 6.5. The 12V Cummins swap is the trick setup if you want diesel, and without crazy electronics hassle.

A fella I work with has a box 3+3 dually with a 3/5 static drop and a 572" BB that you could probably get at a decent price. He actually drives it daily and uses it to pull his enclosed trailer with his "Slingshot" dragster. I would venture to say it would make that trip easily, abeit pricey in gas. Plus, he bought the truck while he was stationed out west in Utah or New Mexico (I forget which). We're stationed at Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC so if you were willing to drive about an hour and a half you could take a look at it.

Well, I would have to agree with the cummins swap, more internet searching has revealed to me that it is the only logical way for me to successfully integrate the diesel into my future dually.

I would like to see some pics of your buddies ride if you have some, I appreciate the hook up on the info.

I have been calling around on pretty much every truck I have found. I just found a f-350 dually crew cab (2004) for 10K...well it was sold this morning, guess it was a deal.

The 3500 I called on in Michigan is also gone....but the rusty old turd (who's owner sounded truly shady) is still avaliable for 2K.

So, I think that my price range is around 10K for a nice f-350 and around 4K give or take for a older Chevy...

Thanks for the lead on the truck and the help with this purchase.

I can't wait to be laying some frame...responsibly of course!

that pic looks cool, that same site has a black truck, in better condition of 5K, it is fairly close to me. the drop will cost me around the same if I get the one truck I am looking at in Michigan...all in all, I am going to spend 6K on the truck to get the one I want....I really wish i could stumble across a 12Valv Cummins conversion out there to buy....I really would think that would be the best bet.

I like the white and the black ones from that site, hopefully I will find one in good shape, I am going to be fairly picky until I find one that has a good drop, nice interior and is ready to be painted flat black or already flat black.....

and how sick would a cummins conversion be in one of these trucks....

Thanks for the heads up, maybe I can swing by that Ohio truck mid Feb and get it for a lot less than 4K...at least the guy described it honestly....

Thanks for the help guys....back to craigslist!
