For sure, I have my eye on a 91 in the area....i'm dreaming up a plan to do a Cummins conversion.... Today I'm going to do some Diesel research and figure out a game plan to make this happen.

this site rocks, it's fast on my phone but slow on my computer...not sure what the deal is.

you guys know any place in the Michigan area that installs a dropped suspension and bags?

I've seen some real hack jobs and wouldn't want that for mine.

Thanks for all the replies, I'll keep hunting and posting.

Well,

after searching high and low today doing tons of research on these trucks I believe I have come to decide on the trucks outfit.

It will be a square bodied, quad cab....not picky on the year model.

Blacked out, flat black paint with a shiny black frame. Black rims, grey interior.

And after much consideration and thought, I am about 90% sure that I am going to yank out whatever engine and transmission that is in the truck I buy and replace it with a 1994-1998 12 Valve Cummins engine.

It will have to remain stock for a good amount of time because of the intial cost of the truck, bags, and then the engine and transmission cost, but it will be a mean truck that will meet my requirements of being able to burn almost solid waste motor oil.

I am doing a cost analysis on the stages I must go through to make this build happen. I decided not to jump the gun and buy just any old crew cab.

I am going to be very picky when it comes to the truck. I will search out the cleanest one I can find out there. the less rust means that it will last me longer after I invest this chunk of cash into it with the 12V.

I should have all of the prices down to a few hundred dollars by tomorrow to get an idea on what the build is going to cost.

I have located a few donor engines and transmissions down here in Charleston. Hopefully I can find some automatic transmissions to go with the engines....I don"t want to have to clutch this thing ever.

Back to the drawing board!

lol, you remind me alot of myself man. i analyze things, then research things, then next thing i know i have 2 pages full of notes, ideas ect... im an over thinker, and i know many say that can be a bad thing, i love it. at least you know for sure what you want, and know not to settle. i like your new revised plan man. keep up the hunt, and ill keep searching for things for you as well.

Thanks BigBear, I think I am that way because I have jumped into the fire one too many times and been burned.....

Today I drew out a list of required items for my oil filtration set up, it is a serious list. After the gym today I am going to price it all out and see how long the buy back will be. Lots of data to crunch and then it is going to be me scrounging around for little places to locate oil sources.....

So far the biggest chunk of cash is the actual centrifuge. it is 1300.00 however this fuel source is going to be offset by not only my future truck but it will be providing free fuel for my tractors and whatever else I can come up with that likes to burn the black goodness.

today I was toying with the idea of just buying a 94-98 dodge truck....but I really like the look of the squares....so many decisions....

Today I was thinking about the exit point of the exhaust on a slammed truck....hopefully this thing will be able to drop a load of black smoke at a light when its cranked fuel pump and massive injectors dump the oil....I can't wait! and thats not even the best part....that turbo screaming.....That is a killer sound.

Yeah right! I agree with you. I hope that he can still sell it with the same price.
