The crossmember lays on 20s.

Not trying to sound smart but you said your truck is laying frame...but in the pictures it looks like its laying on crossmember in the front and needs about an inch and a half z to lay all the way out.

No problem, you arn't being a smart ass, you're right... Read it again & you'll see that it says "The Crossmember lays" I then went on to tell the guy that he would need to Z his frame. I was merely commenting that they would tuck becuase he was concerned about width.______________________

anyway, i like your idea about switching to 5lug, i thought of that myself a while back. i didn't do it however, but it might be a nice idea. you may as well do discs in the back then, & of course, you'd want to spend alittle more money & change the front as well. cool idea, i know it's been done before, so it's do-able.

Hey guys. After couple years, still trying to squeeze 22's and larger under kotas? Hey Luke got yours drivable yet? I still have mine and love railing the rockers towing my toys. As for trying to make stuff tuck and squeezing inside dodge sheetmetal with dakota's WIIIIIIDE suspension stance there is NO OTHER way to put on large wheels then to narrow the shit outta your arms and rear end. Unless you get a flush wheel (HIGH positive backspacing). But then what's the fun of that? If going to narrow your rear end, might as well narrow the hell outta it!!! I narrowed mine about the same as Luke, around 9+ inches. Snag your wheels you want, air the truck up as high as possible, put em on, and figure how much steel you need to hack off the axle to make em fit! As far as height goes, luke has that measurement memorized, I used to. But that height depends if you are laying: Frame, pinches, or ROCKERS!!! Have fun, and remember measure 200 times and cut once, then do it all over again cause should have measured 300 times. hehehe I have a tiny paint burn on the very top of my outside bedside where the rail turns, I should have narrowed mine a 1/4" more on each side. Oh well, it's just paint.

Well save up your pennies and get a new dodge. They got somewhat smart and switched to a 5 lug pattern. What is the actual 5 pattern they put on? 5x4.5"? or 5x5"? Either way the stance is still wide as hell, but you do have a better selection of wheels and one LESS step to go to get decent wheels.
