well damn you guys won't believe it or maybe you will. After countless tries of blocking the lines, blocking one line leaving the other open, all these combinations i gave up and decided to put the box back on. Well instead of mounting it i just ran long rubber hoses to the canister to see if it would work. Still nothing...this time the truck wouldnt even start. You know what the problem was? Bitch was out of gas. Apparantly it runs out of gas on a 1/4 of a tank. Here i was spending all this time trying to figure out why it wasnt working and the spitting and sputtering was coming from the truck starving of gas. I never thought about that because the guage still says i have a 1/4 tank. Runs perfect now...shit happens i guess.

i took mine of, but before i did that i took off the bracket for it fliped it over and bolted it to the other side of the truck, just flip the bracket not the box. yeah i found out one day that 1/4 ment empty too. Great fun at 2 am.

yeah i guess its typical for an s10 to run out on a 1/4 tank, i had a 90 model that did it and my brother's did it and it was a 94. I just never thought that was the problem, oh well

be careful if you choose to relocate it lower than the middle of the gas tank. If you ever "tube gas" your truck (fill it all the way up till even the gas tube is full) you can make the charcoal canister siphon gas from the tank...

I know, sounds dumb, but it actually happens.

If you are OBD I like Matt says, it wont throw a trouble code and you can remove it conmpletely. But OBD II will light the SES if the evaporative system isnt complete.

No it doesnt make anything less harmful to breathe or less harmful to the atmosphere. If you ever walked by an old car in the summer, it smells faintly of gas. The charcoal canisters ONLY purpose is to take vented gas vapors and make them not smell. Thats the charcoal part. The gas vapors are stored in it till they either become liquid and are returned through the return line, or are introduced to the intake under vacuum on startup. Thats the canister part.

Once again russ is correct.....
