If you really want clean, simple and reliable. get the ART roadgrater. especially since you you seem new to all this. custom setups like that are not always reliable. im not saying that your daumb and you dont know what your doing but thats my suggestion to you. i know a lot of people on here hate on others because they have bolt ons and shit, but fuck them. The Roadgrater is very well designed, and is easy to install. not to mention, despite what many say, it does create a pretty good ride quality.

also i noticed you said something about not wanting a bunch of un-necessary tubing. well, with a setup that you are talking about you NEED that tubing. for example. heres a pic of my current setup. ALL of that tubing serves a purpose. it may not be a mechanical purpose but it has one. if most of that was not there my frame would twist and tweak everytime i hit a switch. so keep in mind stress points.

having a setup installed right is gonna cost you the price of getting the 5 link and doing it yourself.. you seem VERY new to this regardless what you say you 'know', i bet you dont know 60% of it.. not to be a dick, but if you aint done it, you dont know it. i'd save for the 5 link and install it yourself, it only goes together 1 way and in 1 spot and jason's directions are very easy to follow.

NO hate but it sounds like u may need to pay a shop to do the work for u bro.

because i dont know what back halfing is?

The title of this thread and the way u seem to not understand what guys are telling u man. Like i said not hating but dont want to see anyone in something not safe, sounds like Suicide Door's 5 link or a roadgrater would be the way for somebody new to this to be able to do their own work and learn at same time.

When my dog gets sick I go to a vet. When my tranny goes out I go to a transmission shop.People that say its built not bought are to broke to pay for it or have no concept of money earned money spent.I have customers thats have saved for years to have work done.Does that mean he didn't build it?No it means he was smart enough to know when he was out of his league and wanted what he could not offer himself. My point is don't fall for the nazzi propaganda.Your best bet is to ask what shops people trust in your area and if you want to be a fabricator you need to go work at a shop sweeping floors until they let you progress upward.learning on something that can kill people is not cool period!

^^ Amen James. No one's trying to hate on you dude, but you are obviously inexperienced. We're more trying to head you in a better direction to keep yourself safe. Inexperience with something that your life, as well as others, will literally depend on is not good. Be safe about it. Just because you can weld doesn't mean you can build a proper set up. We're not trying to tell you that you should never build your own stuff. But you shouldn't until you get more experience atleast. Help people who have built rides before. Although I decided not to continue piercing, to even have the ability to be a piercer, I had to sweep the floor and organize the needles for a LONG time before I could even attempt to touch someone. When I did, I had a well experienced person watching every move I made. Before I was able to become a tech, I had to park cars and do oil changes first. When I do my first job, there's someone there watching over me. I can weld decently, I know the principals and how to build things, but I still pay to have my trucks built because I've never done it. Just be safe with your stuff dude. Don't get in over your head.

i understand what you guys mean but if i had the money to pay a shop 2000 bucks to do my truck i would
but i cant
i make 7 dollers an hour and go to highschool
its my daily driver and i work on everything myself
i would be better off buying a truck already bagged if i was going to take it to a shop and have it done
most shops just jack you anyways
every shop in central florida charges to much and does to little
i may be inexperienced
but i know enough that i dont want a shitty ass 2 link set up with panhard
and i also know that i cant afford something crazy
so im doing the best with what i can with the money i make and the skills i have
i realize i need to do it and do it right
thats why i dont plan on body dropping it because i dont trust my craftsmanship enough to ride on sheetmetal that i welded up
steel plates are different
i would trust myself to know that i built something stong and that will last
if my goal was to just bag it without work i would just monoleaf it but that is rediculous and im not poor
tons of s10s run around with 2 links
and they ride like shit
and their trucks are shit

So because mine is built by me and I didn't pay some shop to do it means im to broke to have a shop do it or I have no concept of money earned money spent???

I don't think so dude.... you might want to re-phrase that I think.

Im all for people doing things themselves, but people need to know their limits of their capabilities. I'd much rather se some chump take his truck to a quality shop than see him try and do it himself and fail miserably but then have some "at least i did it myself" attitude.

People need to sit back and think about what they are about to attempt and if they are capable of doing it properly and safe. A lot of people need to put their ego's and pride aside sometimes and just let a capable shop do the work... a lot of time you might end up spending less and have your ride on the road in a shorter time than if you would try it and have to re-do it a couple times.

save up.. it cant be done by yourself over night. its your daily huh? it will take someone inexperienced a good few weeks to get it done RIGHT.

i make 7 an hr and i have a 3/4 frame under my s10, its a slow project, but it all takes SAVING.
