We are bagging my 98 ranger and we have the back done but I need pictures of the front. I need to lay out on 18s.

All you have to do is get the cups and trim out the spring pocket as well as notch for the tie rods and the lower control arm mount. Make sure you hav e aset of DJM arms as well.

YOU DONT NEED CUSTOM ARMS -- YOU CAN LAY ON STOCK ARMS ON 18'S HELL EVEN ON 20'S --- YOU DONT EVEN NEED TO NOTCH FOR THE TIE RODS ITS JUST PUTS SLIGHT PRESSURE ON THEM - BUT NOT BAD AT ALL -- --- I HAVE 2600 FIRESTONE UP FRONT ---JUST PLATE THE LOWER A ARMS SO YOU CAN MOUNT THE BAG TOO --- RUN A SMALL CUP ON TOP AND MAKE SURE YOU CUT ENOUGH SO THAT BAG WILL NOT RUB -- GET SOME SHORTER SWAY BAR ENDLINKS AND MAKE CUSTOM SHOCK MOUNT AND YOU ARE ALL SET --

i dont think you can lay out on even 17"s with stock arms and balljoints. you might be able to lay on 17"s with some moog balljoints on stock arms. and you should notch for your tie rods, you dont want to put weight on them and bend them

put on a set of djm arms, suicide doors cups and cut the spring pocket out and ditch the sway bar. DONT USE STOCK ARMS YOU WILL WEAR YOUR TIRES OUT REALLY FAST and they really really suck. Ebay the arms, i got top and bottoms for 200 bucks and it worked out great, i never notched for tie rods on 18s, didnt need to

OK WELL THEN FORGET WHAT I SAID -- APPARENTLY I KNOW NOTHING CONSIDERING MY TRUCK IS BAGD ON STOCK ARMS ON 18'S WITH SWAY BAR (WHICH YOU NEED SINCE IT DOES LIMIT THE FRONT FROM ROCKING BACK AND FORTH)AND SHOCKS UP FRONT ( FOR MORE IMPROVED RIDE QUALITY) --- AND IT RIDES GREAT ---- AND CHECK THE PROFILE IT GETS PLENTY OF LIFT -- EVEN WITH THE BODYDROP --- BUT WHATEVER LISTEN TO THESE GUYS THEN -- !!!!!!

Had DJM upper and lowers on mine. Notched the frame for the tie rods. It is neccessary to notch for the tie rods. Any weight will place a bend in them and your toe adjustment will never sit correctly again. Thus the truck will road walk and pull one way or another. The arms are the best way to go for as much camber help as you can get without going way wild on fabrication. We all know how much a Ranger cambers when layed out. Think about that and how much lift you have to have just to drive without eating tires. Arms will help you roll lower while driving as well and keep your tires healthy.

Not that some things haven't worked for others but if you are going to do it ..... do it right. Make sure all clearances are good so you don't have an accident later.

Its a lot easier to lay out on aftermarket arms, you will have to admit that, necessary, no but much, much easier.

well yeah you gotta notch for tie rods if it hits but for some reason mine didnt and i z'ed the frame 2". Dont listen to that guy with the vert gray ranger, I had to daily mine and the djm arms reduced tire wear completely and let me ride low at the same due to the dropped arms. I would highly recommend getting an m2 front end and building a frame on the side, only way to go for a ranger
